Los portugueses regresarán en mayo
Conversamos con los muchachos de Moonspell previo a su retorno al país, comentándonos un poco más de su álbum estudio, ‘1755’, planes a futuro y otros detalles que puedes leer a continuación:

R: Hola, estamos bien. Esta noche tocaremos en Portugal antes de volar a Latinoamérica, y luego, llegar a Chile, el 1 de mayo.

1. Hi guys, ¿How are you?
R: Hi, we’re doing fine. Tonight we play the last show in Portugal before we fly to Latin America and then reach Chile, 1st of May.
2. En mayo estarán de regreso en Chile, ¿Cómo se sienten con este regreso a nuestro país y Sudamérica en general?
R: Se siente increíble. Hemos ido allá desde 1998 y es uno de nuestros territorios favoritos para tocar, los fans están llenos de energía y dedicación, y las ciudades son tan hospitalarias y libres, puedes disfrutar tu tiempo libre en el escenario también.

2. In May you will be back in Chile, ¿How do you feel of being back in our country and in South America, in general?
R: It feels awesome. We’ve been going there since 1998 and it’s one of our favorite territories to play, as fans are full of passion and dedication and the cities are so hospitable and free, you can enjoy your time off stage as well.
3. Están promocionando su último disco, ‘1755’, ¿Cómo creen ustedes que ha sido la recepción de éste por parte de los fans?
R: Muy bien, de hecho. No solo de Portugal y Brasil, ya que el álbum está cantado completamente en portugués, si no también de los eslavos, países del Este quienes realmente les encantó la vibra del disco, a pesar de la «barrera» del idioma.

3. You are promoting your last album, ‘1755’, ¿How do you think that it has been the reception of the fans of the album?
R: Very good indeed. Not only from Portugal and Brasil, as the album is fully sung in Portuguese, but also from Slavic, Eastern countries which really loved the album’s vibe in spite of the language “barrier”.
4. ¿Qué tan importante es para ustedes ‘1755’?
R: Muy importante. Para nosotros es un paso al frente y estamos contentos de que trabajamos lo suficientemente duro para retratar una representación poderosa de un hecho histórico que es tan esencial y simbólico para Portugal. Sentimos que debíamos crear algo un tanto diferente de nuestra norma, y sentimos que era algo correcto y bueno, y que los fanáticos amarían también, así que creo que es tan importante como cualquier otro disco de Moonspell, no como un proyecto único.

4. ¿How important is for you ‘1755’?
R: Very important. For us it’s a step forward and we’re content that we worked hard enough to portrait a powerful representation of an historical fact that is so essential and symbolic for Portugal. We felt creating something a bit different from our norm and it felt right and good and the fans loved it too, so I guess it’s as important as any other Moonspell album, not just an one-off project.
5. En este tour, ¿Tendremos la oportunidad de escuchar algunas canciones de ‘Extinct’?
R: Creo que sí. Una o dos canciones, ya que Chile no estuvo dentro de ‘Road to Extinction Tour’. Todos están todo el tiempo muy preocupados por el setlist, pero creo que más que una lista de canciones, la gente debería disfrutar más del concierto, eso es lo que realmente importa.

5. In this tour, ¿Could we be able to listen to some songs ‘Extinct’?
R: I believe so. At least one or two songs as Chile wasn’t played in the ‘Road to Extinction Tour’. Everybody is very worried all the time about the setlist but I guess than more than a list of songs, people should enjoy the energy of the concert, that’s hat matters the most.
6. ¿Qué sorpresas podemos esperar del show?
R: Un gran monstruo saliendo a destruir la ciudad? No sé, vamos con el flujo, tenemos un gran poder trabajado, y la gente en Europa y Rusia se sorprendió bastante con eso, es un tono dramático, es energía, así que intentaremos de sorprenderlos a ustedes también.

6. ¿Which surprises can we expect of the show?
R: A giant monster coming out of a trembling city? I don’t know, I go with the flow, we have a nice powerful set worked out, and people in Europe and Russia were very surprised by it, its dramatic tone, its energy so I guess we will try and surprise you guys too!
7. ¿Saben algo o les gusta algo de Chile?
R: Terremotos violentos, un duro dictador como en Portugal en el siglo XX, un excelente vino tinto, pisco, café con o sin piernas, Pentagram, Jodorowsky. Desde mi mente, agregaría gente fantástica, una ciudad increíble y gran hospitalidad siempre.

7. ¿Do you know or like something about Chile?
R: Violent earthquakes, a hard dictatorship like in Portugal in the XX century, excellent red wine, pisco, cafe with or without piernas, Pentagram, Jodorowsky. From the top my head, I’d add fantastic people, amazing city and great hospitality all the time!
8. ¿Qué planes tienen para el cercano futuro de la banda?
R: Básicamente este año estamos con giras. Después de Latinoamérica volvemos a los shows portugueses y los festivales de verano en Europa. Luego iremos a Estados Unidos y Canadá junto con Amorphis, DT y Omnium Gatherum, será una buena gira. En Agosto lanzaremos un DVD/Blu-Ray en vivo, ‘Lisboa Under the Spell’, grabado en Portugal y también una reedición de ‘Wolfheart’ y algunos otros del catálogo.

8. ¿Which plans do you have for the near future of the band?
R: We are basically touring this year. After this Latin America run we go back to Portuguese shows and Summer festivals in Europe. Then we go to the US/Canada together with Amorphis, DT and Omnium Gatherum, it’s gonna be a nice tour. In august we will be releasing a Live DVD/blu-ray Lisboa under the spell, recorded in Portugal and also a new ‘Wolfheart’ reedition and some other back catalogue.
9. Finalmente, ¿Le darías unas palabras a los seguidores?/ En: Finally, ¿Would you give us some words for the fans?
R: Gracias y saludos. Encontro dia 1 de Mayo, a no faltar! under the spell!
